Your first stake picks the team. Switching is possible on truce day only: it claims first, burns 2% of the moved stake and sends 2% of the moved LP to 0xdEaD.

How a war works

Six days of fighting. One day of truce. Twelve times.

12 wars Γ— 7 days = 84 days, counted from GENESIS β€” the timestamp of the deploy transaction. No keeper: settlement is lazy, the first user action after a war's fight ends settles it.

Burns are time-weighted like stake. A burn inside your budget at the bell earns like staking 4 tokens for the whole war; halfway through, like 2. A burn one block before truce earns ~0. "Burn together at the bell" is the ritual β€” no shared cap, no gas race.

Days 1–6 Β· Fight

Points accrue every second: T = 518,400 fight seconds per war. The scoreboard β€” both teams' size, points, the underdog factor and the projected winner β€” is exact at any second; nothing is revalued at settlement.

Day 7 Β· Truce

Nothing accrues. Settlement becomes possible, claim auto-stakes your payout, switchTeam is allowed (2% burned). Truce-day sell fees go to the next war's pot.

What you can actually do

Seven actions. That is the whole game.

Put your $BTYLD in the Arena and pick a side. It starts earning straight away, but sitting still only counts half.

Burn tokens for your team. Do it and your whole stake counts double for the week. Burn early: at the opening bell your burn is worth four times its size, at the end of the week it is worth nothing.

Add liquidity in one click, tokens plus ETH, and it is staked for you. Liquidity counts 1.25Γ— what it is worth, because you are also making the pool deeper for everyone.

How you actually earn.

Five things to understand. Nothing here can be changed after the deploy transaction.

  1. Staking puts you in the game. Fighting wins it. Your tokens earn points every second they are staked. Sit still and they count half. Fight and they count full.
  2. Fighting means burning a little of your own stack. Every war you get a fight budget worth 2% of your position. Burn it and your whole position counts full, and the burn itself counts four times over.
  3. Burn at the start of the week, not the end. A burn is worth more the longer it has to work. On the opening bell it counts like four tokens staked all week. In the final hour it counts like nothing.
  4. The team that tries harder wins, not the bigger one. What gets compared is points per token staked. The smaller side is scaled up to 1.5Γ— first, so being outnumbered is not a loss and piling onto the big team is not a win.
  5. The winner takes 60%. The loser is still paid. The losing side keeps up to 40% of the pot, capped so a tiny team cannot farm it. Whatever goes unpaid rolls into next week.

Passive stake is dead weight for its own team. It lowers the team's points per staked token. A fully passive team beats a fully fighting team only if it is more than 3.24Γ— bigger. The loser gets its full 40% only when it holds β‰₯ 30.8% of the points; below that the unpaid part rolls into the next pot.

Every yield below carries its assumption: the share of supply staked, and whether everyone fights. Loot = 0 (a bonus, never planned). The chest is finite and front-loaded.

Auto-stake path: start 10% staked, every reward compounds, nobody else joins. Gross = nobody burns; net = everyone burns the 2% from stake at the bell (the deflation this creates is real: 69.0M burned over the season).

Immutable TeamVesting: cliff GENESIS + 180 days (the season ends day 84, aftermath loot ends day 112), then linear over 365 days = 136,986 BTYLD/day = 0.959M/week = 0.096% of supply/week. release() is permissionless; beneficiary fixed in the constructor.

Why 60/35/5 (team fixed at 5%, remainder to the chest): if the entire chest is dumped into the pool the v2 price factor is Γ—0.277 at 50% LP, Γ—0.335 at 55%, Γ—0.399 at 60%. The deepest pool the chest budget allows; 35% still gives degen-grade yields.

Fee policy

Every buy burns 1%. Sellers pay 2–6% to the fighters.

The fee lives inside the ERC-20 and applies only on the official Uniswap v2 pair: to == pair is a sell, from == pair is a buy. Wallet-to-wallet transfers are free. The Uniswap 0.30% LP fee is untouched. No ETH is ever collected by the protocol.

  • One variable. The token keeps one number, S = recent net sell pressure (in BTYLD). Each sell adds its amount to S; each buy subtracts half its amount. S is updated only by taxed swaps, never by exempt transfers.
  • The marginal fee is a line. 200 + 400 Γ— min(S, 20M)/20M bps: 2% in a calm market, 6% once 20M of net selling has piled up, flat after. S is capped at 60M.
  • Lump = split. The fee is the integral of the curve over the amount sold, so a lump and a split pay exactly the same: 20M at once = 0.800M; 100 Γ— 200k = 0.800M.
  • Resting state is the minimum. S decays by 20M per 24h, absolute and frequency-independent. The fee cannot sit at 6% without new selling; even after a mega-dump it is back to 2% within 3 quiet days.
  • Buying to reset the fee does not pay. Buys count half: resetting before a dump of Y needs a pre-buy of 2Y (1% burned + price impact), strictly worse than paying the fee.

Never add liquidity through the Uniswap UI. A transfer to the pair is taxed as a sell and moves S. Use the Arena's fee-exempt fortify() instead.
Removing liquidity pays the buy fee. Pair β†’ user is taxed as a buy: 1%, burned. Same for any LP removal.

Sellers pay the fighters.

Every sell fee on the official pair becomes loot of the war in progress and is paid out with the chest pot β€” to points, not to traders. A round trip cannot farm it.

The exodus pays those who stayed.

From the end of the last fight (day 78) to day 112, every sell fee is credited to a 13th pool and paid to the war-12 fighters in proportion to their war-12 payout, claimable any time with claim(), paid to the wallet. Computed: 350M sold over a week pays them 20.4M (avg fee 5.82%); 350M over four weeks 7.2M (2.05%). War 12's chest pot, for comparison, is 10.2M.

From day 112 the token routes sell fees to 0xdEaD (buy fees were always burned): every trade burns.

Read this twice

Loot is a bonus, possibly zero.

Any second BTYLD pool (Aerodrome, v3, OTC) is untaxed by construction: the fee is pair-only. Aggregators will route there when it is cheaper. 60% of supply sits burned in the official pool and only official LP earns points, so the side pool settles at a discount β‰ˆ the fee β€” but plan with the chest only. No yield table on this site includes loot.

Read before you ape

What this is not.

Thirteen things that are true and that a launch site would normally leave out. They are the design, not the fine print.

  1. Not a 1-year product. 12 wars, 84 days, then the chest is empty and the token is a plain deflationary fee-on-transfer memecoin (after the 28-day aftermath window). Season 2 is a new contract with a new chest.
  2. The chest is finite and front-loaded. War 1 = 6.1% of supply, war 12 = 1.0%; the auto-stake path goes 61% β†’ 2.3% per week. Yields are TVL-dependent; quote the table, never one number.
  3. Loot is a bonus, possibly zero. Any second BTYLD pool is untaxed by construction; aggregators will route there when it is cheaper. Plan with the chest only.
  4. Structural floor. If everything emitted is sold into the pool the price factor is Γ—0.40 (chest) to Γ—0.33 (chest + 10% initial stake). The exit rules stagger and tax this; they cannot stop it.
  5. Fee-on-transfer UX: Uniswap shows a FoT warning, exact-output sells are unsupported, UI liquidity add is taxed, UI liquidity removal pays 1%.
  6. Fighting is a 2% war tax that stops paying below 3.72%/week (wars 10–12 at 40% staked). Everyone rational fights while yields are high, so the active/passive spread is real early and irrelevant late. Intended: it is the deflation engine.
  7. Contestability shrinks with TVL. At 40% staked and war 12 the 4Γ— budget is 2% of a 200M-per-team stake and βˆ’EV: the war is a 60/40 staking pool. Fine β€” the chest is nearly empty by then.
  8. Auto-staked rewards read as a lock to some degens (7 days to liquidity).
  9. Ξ» lags one war: LP is valued at last week's TWAP. Symmetric for both teams, manipulation-resistant, but LPers see their weight move at war boundaries.
  10. The season-end unravel is rational. Leaving at war 9 forgoes 13.4% of stake; being ahead of a Γ—0.4 dump is worth more. The mitigations (exit-adjusted yields, aftermath loot, burn-from-stake) reward staying; they do not make leaving irrational.
  11. The two-wallet hedge exists. A whale can park a slice passive on the other team. It is zero-sum, and the slice earns at most 0.75Γ— a sharpened winner per token β€” never the best rate in the game.
  12. Passive stake is dead weight for its team. A team cannot kick a passive whale; it can only out-fight him, and its fighters earn up to 1.5Γ— per point if they lose anyway.
  13. LP carries IL and the 1% removal tax. The 1.25Γ— is the compensation; it is not free money. An LPer with no BTYLD stake needs wallet BTYLD to fight.

Unaudited. There is no audit report at the time of writing. The contracts are immutable with zero admin keys, which also means nobody can pause or fix anything. Verify every address on the block explorer before signing. Not financial advice.

FAQ

Short answers.

How do I leave? Can my tokens get trapped?

requestExit(stake, lp): the requested amount stops earning immediately and gets its own 7-day timer (per-request entries; a new request never resets an older one). withdraw(id) after 7 days returns 100%. ragequit(id) any time before maturity burns 25% Γ— remaining/7 days of the entry and gives you the rest now:

The rule never changes, including after the season. 7 days is the longest any token can be held: nothing can be trapped. Safety valve without admin: if a war stays unsettled 14 days after its fight ended, rescueExit() opens the normal 7-day exit for principal without touching the reward logic.

Can I switch teams?

On truce day only. switchTeam() claims your pending wars first, burns 2% of the moved stake and sends 2% of the moved LP to 0xdEaD (locked forever). It reverts outside the truce, so nobody hops on day 6.

Fortify vs adding liquidity in the Uniswap UI β€” what is the difference?

Adding liquidity through the Uniswap UI is a transfer to the pair: taxed as a sell (2–6%) and it moves the pressure S. fortify(tokens, ETH) goes through the Arena, which is a fee-exempt sender: tokens + ETH β†’ addLiquidityETH untaxed β†’ the LP tokens are staked for you and count 1.25Γ— their fair value (2.5Γ— per BTYLD paired). Removing liquidity, either way, is pair β†’ user = taxed as a buy: 1%, burned. The 0.25 is the compensation for impermanent loss and that removal tax; it is not free money.

When does fighting pay?

Fighting = burning your 2% budget at the bell. Versus staying passive while the rest of your team fights, it adds 0.537 Γ— y of your position (0.500 Γ— y halfway through the war) for a cost of 2%: break-even y = 3.72%/week (4.00% midweek). Net of position: +30.9% at 61.2% weekly yield, +14.4% at 30.6%, +6.2% at 15.3%, +3.4% at 10%, +0.7% at 5%, βˆ’0.6% at 2.6% (war 12 at 40% staked). Fighting is +EV in every war at 5, 10 and 20% staked and in wars 1–9 at 40% staked. Beyond the budget a burn returns (1βˆ’Ο„) Γ— y per token: +EV alone only above 100% weekly yield; otherwise it is team play for the 60% share and permanent supply removal.

What happens after war 12?

The first action after day 83 settles war 12; any unpaid remainder is burned. The Arena rolls no further wars: claim, requestExit, withdraw, ragequit stay open forever with the same rules; stake, burn, fortify, buyAndStake, switchTeam revert. Sell fees from day 78 to day 112 are paid to the war-12 fighters (aftermath loot, to the wallet); from day 112 every fee is burned. Team vesting starts day 180 β€” 68 days after the loot window closes, 96 days after the season ends; an exit requested on the last day matures on day 91.

Will there be a Season 2?

Season 2 is a new Arena contract. The token is immutable and fully allocated, so Season 2's chest must come from a new source β€” a community-funded chest deposited into an immutable S2 Arena before its genesis, or a new token paired with BTYLD. DEX fees cannot fund it: routing them to a not-yet-existing contract would need an admin key, which does not exist. Stated, not hidden.

Is there an admin key?

No. Zero admin keys after the deploy transaction: no proxies, no Ownable, no selfdestruct, no delegatecall, no setters. Settlement is permissionless and lazy β€” there is no keeper to go offline. Nobody can pause, upgrade, sweep or rescue anything; that is the trade.

Is the code audited?

Unaudited. There is no third-party audit report at the time of writing. The design has been through several rounds of adversarial review and the contracts carry a fuzz/invariant suite, but that is not an audit. Size your position accordingly and read the list above.

Why 60/40 and an underdog cap of 1.5Γ—?

Inside the normalized zone (size ratio ≀ 1.5) equal effort per token is an exact tie: each side takes 50% and the smaller team earns more per token, so stake flows to the small team and 50/50 is the single attractor. Beyond the zone the big team wins outright, but its per-token yield (0.6 / its share) is still below the loser's because 0.6/0.4 = 1.5 = the underdog cap: the yield tipping point and the normalization cap coincide, so the flow is toward the small team everywhere. A 65/35 split with the same cap leaves a dead zone where the big team parks as a deterministic winner β€” computed and rejected.

Can I lose my staked principal?

The Arena never takes principal except through your own choices: the fight burns you sign (wallet or from stake), the 2% switch cost, and the ragequit burn if you exit before your 7-day timer matures (0% at day 7). Price is another matter β€” see the structural floor and the season-end unravel above. Nothing here is risk-free.
